Wasn’t long ago I was chasing around the red tail hawk , searching for a perfect shot . Then he seemed to disappear and as the warm weather came , he was difficult to find in the trees . So recently I’ve taken up shooting one of the egrets in Central Park . He’s a beautiful bird , but being so white getting details in his feathers is very difficult . But , if your into photography and using manual settings , he will truly taste you skills and patience .
So I’ll share a few shots of this guy .
Wow..really awesome pictures… Great job done
@maseera thank you very much !! Appreciate that !
You’re welcome
Do you also have instagram ? I post photos there too, more often there , I am slow here .
No!
Ok :)) I’m going to try to get better posting here as well .

Stunning! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for taking the time to visit !! I really appreciate that !
Goodday,
As an amateur – amateur photographer I must say I am impressed. Very nice pictures.
Thank you very much . I just love to photo , and keep at it as often as I can . It’s a great hobby for sure and relaxing to watch and photo nature !
Very true, in my spare time I work in a nature reservation (www.kevie.be). I recently bought a decent camera that I took to Australia. Made some very nice photos. But I am not even close to call myself a photographer :). For our business I take pictures as well, but still learning.
I will follow your blog as well, so I will learn 🙂
Ahhh .. thank you so much . I love photoing , and would love to be out photoing everyday and pretty much am .. lol . Most of the time I’ll be in NYC shooting models , but when I’m not , nothing better then sitting next to this little pond taking photos of nature . This egret is just beautiful and if you look deeper in my photos you will see the hawk I was chasing around . It’s relaxing as well as practicing my photography when I’m shooting nature , everyday learning .
But days like this it’s more about taking the time to use and learn different settings and what works best in light , shade etc . 🙂
Stunning photos! I’m in awe!
Thank you so much !!

Amazingly beautiful….
Thank you so much !!!
This is the most amazing post I have seen in a long time. The captures of the egrets are beyond beautiful, Steve. I’ll see if I can find you on Instagram. 😉 Do you think that Instagram is more rewarding for you as a photographer?
Kind regards from Norway,
Dina
Hmmm rewarding ? Not really , because I’m more serious about my photography and that’s just social media . But , I get more likes there then anyplace else so I post there to share my work . :))
Fair enough! 🙂 I’ve been blogging for several years and only recently started posting photos on Instagram, urged by a photographer. Have a wonderful day!
Dina 🇳🇴
I’m the opposite , posting photos , someone said to try posting photos in a blog . Unfortunately I’m not much for writing . 😔 how about I photo and you can write 😂 😜
I’m not much of a writer myself, but I offer to carry your camera gear 🙂
That sounds like a deal , you have no idea how heavy it is 😜
These egret photos are incredible and show so much great detail and life.
Thank you very much !!
Gorgeous!!
Thank you so much Catherine!
Extremely stunning. Love each and every shot.
Thank you very much !! If you only knew how many photos I have of this bird ! 😂
Amazing shots! Thanks for sharing your photos with me.
Thank you for taking a peek at my photos :))
now you see why I always say you are the best photographer
That’s a strong statement , but , thank you for always supporting !!
may I ask what kind of camera and which settings you used?
I use a canon 7d mark II . Settings hmmmm I don’t remember 😂 I was using a sigma 150-600 , so it shoots very dark, because the aperture is 5.6 and I try to have shutter at 1250 when I’m shooting birds . Which means with this lens my ISO is about 1250 as well . I hate having ISO so high , but , need a quick shutter to catch the movement .
Perfect! Thank you!! Really love the shots! Nice one!
I’m not so good at remembering , but looked that up . Do you do photography ? Feel free to find me in instagram / fb / Flickr , it’s where I post most of my photos 🙂
yes i am a photographer! Thank you! I will have a look! 🙂
These are stunning! I can’t imagine how many shots you had to take till you found the perfect one ( I have to do that)>
BTW which camera are you using?
I use a canon 7D , yea, I couldn’t even begin to tell you how many photos I even have of him at this point . 1,000s. But now he left so the challenge begins again with a blue heron that moved in .
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! You captured the beauty of the red tail hawk marvelously.
W. O. W. Thank your very much !! I was happy to get him , hadn’t seen him all summer . .
Great posts. Out of curiosity (I’m trying to grow my blog too), how did you get your post featured on the wordpress discover page?
I have to be honest , I did not know that I was featured until you told me . I wish I could be a little more helpful , but honestly , I had posted a story and about 3 weeks after posting it, suddenly it had gotten 300 likes over night . Since then it has been hit or miss on stories . But in general it seems my nature/ animals stories are what do best . So sorry I couldn’t be a little more helpful 😦
